Our local butcher closed post pandemic so I now use one over in Ross on Wye when I want quality, well sourced meat. A month ago ordered xmas goose and requested it be butchered so I’d have the crown to roast and the rest for confit and stock.
Got the confirmation email yesterday that it’d be butchered and ready for collection. Collected the goose and thought how efficient they had been and was driving home thinking I’d email them about this.
Got home, opened the box and the goose was whole. Have been unwell with flu for over a week now and really did not want any more work to do.
I sent a disappointed but polite email about this. Two minutes later got a very apologetic call, butcher is coming over after they close for the day to break down the bird.
