  • Never tried the speed, but my short ownership of the striple was a fucking riot. Near perfect bike.
I’m actually looking for a battered one to restore.

  • I think I had a bad one but the electrics were a complete disaster on mine. I rode it in anger 3-4 times and literally spent more time fixing indicators, rectifier, stator, headlights, clutch switch... I got fed up and sold it for £2k with no MoT (it was an R as well). It overheated once as well but I think that was related to the stator dying and the fan not operating in idle traffic.

While the electrics were terrible, the build quality on them is surprisingly good - nearly all stainless fastenings etc.

Buyer probably got a bargain as I'd fixed all the issues...

  • I remember you posting it here for sale. Woulda snapped it up but didn’t have the funds at the time.

Yeah some of the electrics just go straight dead. Dunno where the rectifier is on it, but if it’s anything like the Tiger, it’s a pain. Nothing on the starter though, that was just diabolical.

They’re phenomenal when they work though. Manageable hooning.
Partly a reason why I disliked the multi 1200. It was just too much.

  • Electrics on a triumph? Did it have an aftermarket alarm fitted? Was it the actual hard wear or wiring.

Ducati seem odd as some are fine while others aren't tho the seal on multistrada clock was poor and water gets in. Even on replacements. Tho not made by Ducati.

  • Had a triple and found out the RR was sited inside the frame at the base of the engine - hot with zero cooling and yes, it failed. Other than that it was great.
