Serious kudos to anyone getting the full 500 done this year. Some of the days have been grim. I managed just over 100km.
Pas Normal have a 1250km in January challenge, might jump on that for a bit of new year motivation. You can win a £1000 voucher for their stuff, which at their prices might get you some bibs and socks lol

I did 21km on a MTB and I think I deserve a medal

I did it a few hundred kms south from you (Cartagena) :)
I think this was the most kms I covered in a calendar week, and also a maaassive volume of cycling to what this half-assed, swim/run focused triathlon training this fall has been. 700kms in 13 days.

I CBA with cycling much, but I did do 2 parkruns over the week

We finished in 7days - wife stopped crying when we found the missing ride on Strava

You're the real winner

Well done and Garmin?

What were the temps like down there? Mostly sunny days in short sleeves for us but very cold (-5C I guess at some points) in the night and mornings until the sun had done its job.

Not nice enough for short sleeves, defo needed layers & leg warmers some day. Between 13-16C, so not (full on) complaining, but this time last year it was all short sleeves. At night only went down to about 9C-ish, but I would have traded it for the warm days!

Hello darkness my old friend.

And this year?

When's it start again? NYE right? :)

Time to delude myself I'll do the whole thing this year, before inevitably riding (at most) 200k and packing it in and spending the rest of the time drinking and stuffing my face.

Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve for most of us but feel free to knock it all over on the last possible day.
Work will be getting in the way of riding time for some. An overseas client has just booked a conference call with me on Boxing Day.

This is the current way to do it. (Although I normally call it at 50k to be safe... 😊).
-
• #3292
Hahaa, the 200k is highly weather dependent. If it's raining, it'll be 100k.
-
• #3293
I thought I might have a chance of doing it this year, but realistically only have four days available to ride (can't really ride Xmas Day, got to visit relatives on the 27th and 29th and it's my youngest's birthday on NYE) and just can't see me getting 125 kms a day in.
Maybe next year.

Some of the local club are aiming to do it (Kingston wheelers) and the weather looks good... Maybe I'll actually make it for the first time

Not sure I’ll have the time to do it all outdoors, but should be able to tick it off. The weather’s looking decent which is a bonus

I shall be doing the Festive 500Kcal instead, that figure relating to per-mouthful of food I will be eating on a sofa

Very good!

Haven’t done it in years but the weather looks decent (for Scotland) and Mrs Legs is keen. I’m still working as normal so will give it a go and see how I feel.

Think I’m in(!). First time in a while, been a few years since a driver broke my ribcage. Only recognising the damage that was done now that I’m fit again, and thankful for getting my health back. Attempting fixed, never done it before that way, see how I get on.
Very best to all that go for it, and cheers to those supporting riders. -

Good luck ✌🏼
Pretty tough doing it in Spain...
To be fair, this loop could've been covered in snow - out bailout plan was to get pissed up wandering Valencia.
