Actually spent 20mins chatting to nice bloke near Bateman's tower. Yachtsman that had moved there from somewhere I've now forgotten but talked about the tower and sailing and cycling and other random stuff. Nice guy. In fact, that whole area (Essex/Suffolk) seemed full of nicer people than London.
At a pub in Jaywick we were warned to keep an eye on our bikes, but I'm from London's Famous London man. I ain't lettin' that shit outta my sight anywhere.

Pair of solo rides going to Windsor and dorking. Nothing special really. Very slow as I’m getting over knee issues.

Fixie miles from Bristol to Tewkesbury. It should’ve been Worcester but I ran out of daylight after having to detour around a road that had become a river.

Admitedly, this was on Satruday just gone.
Train to Bristol on Friday. Night full of carb loading followed by steam room and sauna (not sure it helped digestion)
Woke up at 5:45 - departed from Knowel by 6:30
Gear cable disintergrated just outside Marlborough, which incedently turns out there's a very well stocked bike shop on route in the town. Restocked with a Mocca and a bite to eat.Had a pit stop in a pub in Farncombe, then onto climb Box Hill under the rising moon.

That is serious decent effort in midwinter! Would be good to see the stats, full route etc. It's a ride I'm meaning to do.

Thanks! Im not sure if you can see this? https://www.strava.com/activities/13116204486
These were our mile markers to keep a rough estimate on timing, we were keeping at 14.2mph minimum speed to hit these. We did have a slight tail wind on the day which made a difference. I would recomend the route as it avoided most big towns and felt a good amount of 'aventure cycling in the countryside'

Grim AF outside, rain, wind, mucky roads etc.
Needed some new ukulele strings though so had to get out.

Yesterday’s ride: snow, sleet, rain, a freezing gale, climbing over fallen trees, riding through slush and ice. It was actually pretty great except for the last two miles where the cold had got into my hands so badly that I couldn’t brake or change gear without difficulty and all I was really aware of was the screaming pain in my fingertips.

LOL
ngl there were a fair few points (mostly when I was grinding along at 0.5mph getting my face blasted off by an icy headwind) where I wondered why I didn’t have a more sensible and rewarding hobby. Like sitting in a nice warm room punching myself in the groin or something.

More misty miles on the Steamroller today, and a nice misty pottle on sat.
Think I'm going to actually miss the mist when it goes.

Took kind of similar shots. Blue skies in Britain? Who knew it was possible.
These are from 70k ride near Colchester where we'd stayed before riding the Santa Special 200k audax yesterday
