has anyone tried to DIY replace battery on an Intel macbook pro? I got myself a new M4 pro a couple of weeks ago so that's gonna be my main machine from now on. Was going to trade in my 2016 MBP, but for £125, I'd rather keep it as spare. The only issue with it other than it being slow is the battery doesn't last that long. Apple wants £275 to replace the battery, iFixit kit is around £120 which seems reasonable. The insturction looks easy enough, but wanted to know if it's worth the risk?
I would try it, I got Apple to change mine, it took 5 days and cost over a £100. I regretted that after watching a few tutorials. If careful, I see no reason why you couldn't just do it yourself.
