  • I am running 650b x 2.3" on my Secan 2.5 with very comfortable clearance.

  • Which tyres? And how is the handling?

  • They are Schwalbe G One Allround in 2.25 but size up wider on my rims.
Handling is great. On road and off road. I did ride quite some single track stuff on it. On a sporty drop bar bike like this I wouldn’t want 700c x 50mm(+). Feels wrong to me. I got my hart tail for that. I don’t know if there is scientific evidence for that but the 650b wheels feel more agile to me. I used to have a second wheel set to be able to swap to 700c but in the end I didn’t really do that. No need.

  • Here’s clearance with 700x50 Gravelking SK’s. I have the 2.1 still in the box untested as I can see from how tight these are to the seat tube that the 2.1 won’t fit, so won’t try.

50mm is perfect though, and why I chose this frame.

  • Inaugural ride. From cracked Soma to a fresh Fairlight frameset in 10 days.

Glad I went for this over a Wolverine, nice tight geometry as I like it for Moth bars, and super nice finishing, though I’ll likely get it powder coated dark burgundy. Everything arrived chased and faced. It’s just awaiting a rear flat mount caliper now.

This was from their outlet with a paint blemish I can’t find. I can just see a tiny 0.05mm black dot under the downtube.

  • Handsome build!

  • Unorthodox

  • So these new 3.0 forks, any reason not to slap a 180mm rotor on the front?
