Somehow those forks look like they have less travel than the design 100mm.
Basically a gravel bike these days ;)

Anyone got a sm or med day one to sell?

They're 80mm but it's the smallest frame, the alfine (which this was before previous owner turned it into 1x10) all came with 80mm I think and it was the 2x10 and 1x10 that came with 100mm in all other sizes

Joined the club - equi rim brake - haven’t opened the box yet but do I need to take it to a shop for facing / prep or do they ship ready to build ?

I have the 2x10 version of this in the small flavour - forks also came set to 80mm, think it was size that determined the travel. You should be able to remove one or two internal spacers to give you 100/120mm, I did this & it was a great improvement, every 20mm slackens the head angle by a degree or two - I ended up settling with 100mm then eventually replaced everything on the bike - they're good frames, worth a bit of tinkering
From memory the stock bars were pretty narrow, even changing those & sticking some chunkier tyres on made it feel a bit more confident, but increasing the travel a bit made the biggest improvement.

You'll probably be wanting the nice TRP brakes I bought for a project like this but never used ;)

That's very interesting to know. Another mate was encouraging me to increase travel and I assumed I'd have to get another fork. If I don't have to get anything different I might give it a whirl 👍
It's close to getting turned into a single speed with rigid forks tbh because I don't ride it off road and on road it feels like a boat

Aye, it's pretty straightforward & the service instructions are all on the SRAM site- pick up a basic service kit & do the seals at the same time and you're golden. The recon golds are pretty basic but mine were really plush after a service & reasonably light.
Rigid single speed is a decent option - frame fits 2.35" Vittoria Barzos which are pretty light and roll well for the size, no gears and a rigid crabon fork up front would make it pretty nimble

Thank you for the info. Good to know they have held up well.
Also: The Reynolds 725 Chrome Moly that Genesis uses: Should I rust-proof the frame somehow? Haven't done it before. What's the best method, if so? Using something on the inside of the tubes?

Looks great. Bullmoose bars?
For what it’s worth I’ve put a lot of kms on the SR24s (w 42 Continental Contact Speed) and it’s fine. Not light but there are other ways to find weight. Off myself included. The front now has a Dt something w dynamo for t dark months so less use. Save the money for something more fun. Until they break etc. Enjoy
