Subscriptions. Sounds like a good idea to be able to pause streak. In terms of cost, something like £4 a month I'm thinking might be OK?

Also rediscovered the guardian crossword blog after years of not browsing it.

I just managed to complete both the Guardian quick cryptic (seemed trivial) and the Quiptic, which was much more of a challenge but with a pleasing number of answers that simply appeared in my brain.
Minute Cryptic has been having a postive impact, it seems.
Next goal - a decent stab at the Guardian main crossword.

Good luck with it. Post any clues here that you get stuck on? Sure we can crowd source it...

Hello,
I attempt the guardian most days - Vulcan on a Monday is often steadier. Imogen this week was also a little nicer.Check out fifteensquared for the parsing/solutions

Spent a couple of minutes totally stumped by this one, then guessed at a definition synonym and instantly saw the wordplay.
I really enjoy how my brain is starting to work with these clues, when I am initially confused.
Brilliant clue, IMO

My eldest child is called Imogen.
Maybe this is a sign....

I managed about 85 percent of Imogen's Wednesday puzzle!
Had to reveal a few and had to check the logic in fifteen square for maybe one or two more.
Overall I am dead chuffed with it.
Might try Vulcan's offering later if I find the time.

Nice! You're faster than me then. I think I managed about the same, perhaps a little more, but it usually takes a few sittings - pre-work, lunch, post-work. But I'm definitely getting better, more and more puzzles close to complete. If I encounter any particularly nice puzzles I shall post them.

Exactly the same, great clue

I seem to remember that I used to think the Guardian in particular got harder through the week. Or was it the Times?
Since kids I've very rarely sat down with a whole puzzle.

That's how it seems to me. By Friday it's often almost impenetrable for me.
I went back to do this week's Tuesday (Brummie) and got most on my lunch break yesterday :)
