  • These are very cool - do I have to do a custom order if I want one to fit an extra large 63cm noggin?

  • That's just the best! I'm so pleased it got to you safe and sound. Enjoy! And do let me know how the waxed cotton works out.

  • Thanks so much - I'm so glad you like them. Yep, it'll be a custom order. You'll see the listing on my Etsy shop.
You're also very welcome to send a PM on the forum.
Looking forward to hearing what you have in mind.

  • liking the purple waxed cotton - do you have any more of that fabric?

  • I do! What did you have in mind?

  • Received my cap today. Really well made and looks great. Great that there is no elastic and fits my head perfectly. Thanks Pete, i'll be back I'm sure...

  • That's great news - and thanks for letting me know.

If you have a moment, similar commentary on my Etsy shop would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to making the next one for you.

    Happy cycling!

  • Just ordered one to try! I love a cap and usually wear one under my helmet, but my fat head has always been an issue so great to have the options.

  • I just spotted the order - thanks so much!

I'll wrap it up and have it with the courier after the school run.

  • I ordered mine (which you guys saw in a picutre my wife took). Unfortunately it didn't fit, it was quite a bit too big, I could fit all 8 fingers under. I remeasured my head and I was correct at 58cm, measured the hat and it was 60-61cm depending on which measurement I took.

Reached out to @UnclePete and he made another without hesitation. I'm posting the original back including the £5 note he included to cover the post. Mistakes happen, I don't know if it was my mistake or his as I don't make hats but he rectified it quickly and was polite and friendly.

People say you only know if someone has good customer support when things go wrong. Pete has shown he stands behind his products and work.

  • I'm so pleased the replacement arrived!

You never mentioned whether it fits as it should?

  • Glorious! I'll make a note of the pattern size for future orders.

Looking forward to getting some long-term feedback on the utility of the waxed cotton.

  • well, I was pondering a cycling cap with earflaps to keep the wind out, but then again maybe just the regular cap... (my right eardrum gets really sore in a cold breeze...!) how do you measure size? I'm somewhere around the 58-59cm mark depending on where the tape goes... (horizontal, or pulled down at the back where my usual cap reaches down to...)
