Glad I’m not the only one planning runs around cafés/mincers.
Hope your kid is ok

Cannot recommend.
They really put the 'don't bother' in dreadful.

Puff pastry does not belong with mince, I will fight anyone who disagrees

Slapped. Pastry is the best I’ve had I reckon, burnt butter dark and short AF. Filling was a bit one note, could have done with a bit more booze and peel. Overall one of the best though

£2.20 if you have the cheek to walk in apparently

I'm definitely not using boss man in a casual racism way but happy to stop using it if that's the way it's perceived.
I've always seen it as a term of deference to an authority figure - owner of a shop
Loads of shop workers call male customers 'boss', too.

Totally agree, the sugar crystals embedded in the puff pastry add further disgust to the situation

Daylight robbery!
I suspect it’s £2 a pop if you buy 4 at a time. I bought 8.

2 heretical items.
1) mince pie doughnut. Too much cream, not enough mince. Conceptually great but poorly executed.
2) mince pie crumble slice thing. Shortbread base, crumble top, shot through with gooey mincemeat. Actually v good.

Konditor pies = best i've had this year.
Bao Mincemeat Bao = a total fucking waste
Waitrose no1 = v good.

Yule logs are not mince pies.
It's bad enough when people talk about Mincemeat Bao.
Or puff pastry mince pies. -

Konditor vegan mince pies arrived. Warmed up and tried one and they did not disappoint. That pastry is banging and they're filled up.

Arrived at my parent’s house to this treat. Quite small and not too rich which means 4 or 5 can go down without a second thought.

I know but they're clearly mince pie adjacent. Often literally.
What I will say is that I note the 'Good Housekeeping Approved' logo on the dreadful puff pastry pies @mespilus posted, which also appears on the Aldi yule log, but I found the icing far too sugary. Lidl is much better and a pound cheaper too.

Had this today, chocolate and cherry roulade from Warwick Street Kitchen in Warwick (not the one in Leamington, which confusingly is the original one). The chocolate had gingerbread in, was banging.

I've enjoyed the ones I've had but I seem to have lost the love a bit this year if I'm honest :/
