Bedroom mirror needs a clean. But I got all my suits out. Well the ones here. I've managed to convince my folks to house a few too...anyway I realised the bargain summer linen suit is a sort of light blue and informal. So tried that with the thick pink t, and I'm happy enough with that.

Trousers are absolutely holding on for dear life, but the tshirt hangs over.

Stuck for shoes so despite my intense dislike of them, I was going to grab some black loafers. Logic being:

1. it's still an evening thing
   
2. the belt I want to use is black
   
3. black will get more use than novelty ones
   
4. brown shoes will look too "brown and blue wedding suit"
   
   

Any suggestions for socks? As for loafers I think I'll need a new pair.

A pair of white plimsoles and some sunnies would finish that off nicely. Don wasn’t keen on socks.

You could always get a pair of secondhand shoes and then sell them on after the event to reduce costs and waste. I did the same when I attended a black tie event in summer. I think I lost about a fiver on the whole thing.

I've got a couple of Paynter chore jackets but I thought that ^ was a total rip. That fabric is ten a penny and their entire model is questionable - buying a fucking Winter coat for delivery in Spring?!

Similar coat at Walker Slater would be a fair bit cheaper

I rate walker slater, have a lovely tweed (martin is the model) suit from them.

Ditto. I have a three button threepiece and a couple of two button jackets. Very nice gear!

Interesting, I feel the Paynter stuff is really improving in terms of design and finish (I've got a few other bits too). Using Harris tweed for me is bonus, it's certainly not a cheap fabric and has a fascinating manufacturing history, I'd choose it all day long over an unknown source.
However, I do agree they're rinsing the FOMO model but stuff still sells out in ten seconds flat so why wouldn't they charge what the market is willing to pay? I don't even mind that much that they've started doing these '.5' runs, where they take pre-orders for a second batch, even if it pushes the delivery out of season, at least people are guaranteed to get one.
The Walker Slater lines look fine but fairly traditional for my tastes, smanks of Peaky Blinders.

Big Paynter fan too, got a bunch of chores, shirts, tees, but i got the waxed jacket and kind of wish id just got a barbour or something, its the only miss ive got from them IMO
