Tempted by the shoes, how do they size up? I'm usually a 42 but hear Giro tend to size a little on the small size

True to size I think, I wear 8/8.5 in regular shoes and found Giro 8 was too small so I bought some Privateers in a 8.5

Nice - I’m building a bike for a mate and have a nitto quill and these would be ideal - Christmas kicks off tomorrow for me so not sure I’ll be reliable enough to get to Crystal Palace - where is central for you? Not wishing to hold up any potential sale etc so
