Ha, put a 4.5t motor in my TA07 as I had one lying around and it crazy fast and difficult to control!

Yeah, I have Deans plugs on my lipo run cars.
I think the motor in the Howard's pic is silver can or Sport Tuned.

It’s just a silver can on 3s. Run it loads and it’s been ok.
I use direct soldered connections on the serious stuff.

Thanks for the link. :). I feel an Xmas present in the offing. Some of the Airfix are quite cheap but I usually build Eduard....

I pulled my old TL-01 out of the loft while visiting my parents but it seems to have a throttle control issue and doesn’t seem to make anywhere near the power it used, my guess is the batteries are dead and won’t hold charge anymore.
I’d have to buy a replacement pair of NiMH cells and a charger really, as the charger I have is rubbish and I think that probably means it’s not worth spending the money on right now
Probably going to put the money towards an RTR crawler like an SCX24 or a TRX-4M crawler for the boy instead

If stock, they're probably rally block tyres on a damp road surface, so not surprising.

Front motor long travel 4wd init. Super dynamic compared to the touring cars that are more point and shoot.
I lie though, it’s not entirely stock; the front has a ball diff not the geared diff.
My XV-01 has been in the wars. Binned it on the road track pinging off the front drivers side suspension arm. Fixed that up only for the servo to die (my bad, I'd just fitted a direct horn and it was a £15 servo) and take the BEC out on the (£15) ESC with it.
Time to put a 120 amp ESC, 4.5t motor and a 40kg servo in, obvs.
