Fingers crossed that things clear up in the following months.
Sometimes drastic measures like this announcement are needed to get things rolling and solutions to be found. 🙏🙏 -

Thanks to you for your support around the purchase!! It genuinely has been life changing, if you are ever in Sheffield hit me up, I run a community sauna and a free session is all yours ❤️❤️💓

I wanna throw up everytime i think about the thoughts of entire threads, resources, love, convos, history being gone. I would download the entire site if i could/knew how/was allowed.
I am in a severe heartbroken denial honestly, flailing against this shitting situation. Fuck the Tories and double fuck Labour :(

But this costs £400 per month at the lower end to operate... so I could only do that for a short while.
I would donate a decent amount to a regular PayPal or Patreon or whatever to make this happen. A read only archive or something similar is better than nothing.

Lawyer Mate: I agree with the assessment that it could be weaponized by dickheads
The key part which takes the risk from low to medium IMHO.
Medium risk of a high liability... is too high a thing for me to accept.

Make it an onion service?

I believe that the thing that you both are not taking into account is that @Velocio would have to bear the weight of the sliver of possibility that things might go wrong. Given what's at stake, the likelihood of that happening doesn't matter much, unless it's zero without a shadow of a doubt.
This is very different from dealing with trolls: the judicial system is a terrifying beast, and I understand why someone wouldn't want to be in harm's way, even if the odds are infinitesimal.
Until there's a way to make sure that @Velocio is completely, undoubtedly safe, this is not about "a proportionate response".
My apologies if I'm completely missing the mark @Velocio.

I would take you up on this, but body changes due to HRT makes me very nervous about saunas nowadays, but thanks for the kindness.

I was not mentioning that here because this thread is public and too many people are reading it.
Could you remove that bit please.

In practice, this means the local cycling forum that fostered trust, friendship, and even mental health support is at risk of vanishing, while the megacorps sail on without a scratch. Ironically, a measure allegedly designed to rein in “Big Tech” ends up discouraging small, independent communities and pushing users toward the same large platforms the legislation was supposedly targeting.
This comment on Hacker News touches on one of the many reasons that Discord is an uncomfortable solution to this.

In order of preference:
1) Lfgss.com
2) Uncomfortable Discord Lfgss solution
3) Sweet Fuck All.if we can't have 1), I'd make use of 2).

as i age, and get increasingly isolated, knowing lfgss is still here gives me something to look forward to. i don’t post as much as i used to, but i have plans for posts months, and even years away—with that light disappearing, and all our history; well, it has brought tears. it probably won’t do me in, but right now, this evening it feels like it would.
whatever happens; my most best wishes and thanks to Velocio

Might crowdfunding liability insurance work? I imagine might not be expensive for an organisation with 0 turnover.. also I’m pretty sure that’s what companies do for their directors when it comes to potential breaches of directors’ duties etc so it’s not like it’s an uncommon insurance product.
For the discord-curious/nervous
