Which album? Journey in satchidananda is one of my all time favourite LPs, but she has so many fantastic albums!
Amazing record, I also love The Ecstatic Music of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda. The new Carnegie Hall Concert record is absolutely fantastic too.

Did anyone else get the new Ezra collective? `Layover'. Mine arrived today. I don't know if it's just my system, but the bass is fucking heavy!
It was recorded live to vinyl. -

Is anyone here familiar with the 1938 Benny Goodman concert in Carnegie Hall? Through quite a lot of it, particularly when there’s high energy vibes being played, there’s someone continually yelling yeaaaahh! who sounds fucked up. Anyone know, is that someone in the band or an audience member at the front off their tits?

Another unforgettable evening last night with Fred Wesley and the New J.B.s at Ronnie Scott’s.
Had an equally lovely conversation with Dwayne Dolphin aka the baron about touring with a legend, visiting London and how jazz and funk music hold universal appeal

That would have been amazing I bet.
Incidentally I went digging yesterday and bought a Fred Wesley Quartet LP.We <3 Fred and the JB's.

One thing you are guaranteed with Fred Wesley, is that he covers the full spectrum of jazz in his performances, traditional, blues, JBs, P-funk beautiful tributes too, you drink it all in with his commentary.
I said to Fred two years ago that we will continue to see him when he is in London, at 81 years young he still has funk in his trunk, his band equally top draw
I personally think that live gigs keep him going, a true performer a lot of love and respect in the room. In conversation at the bar with Dwayne, he talked about a strong unbreakable connection for over thirty years.
Mrs M always seeks out Fred’s daughter for a chat, who is a constant at gigs, it’s all very special and highlight of my year
Nubya Garcia at the ICA this evening, launch gig for her new album Odyssey. Felt intimate, cracking atmosphere - looking forward to actually listening to the album.
And got returns for Nala Sinephro at the Barbican, so looking forward to that.
