  • Dunno how you managed to find the precise partial search term that works on their site, but thank you. 👍👍

  • You asked?

  • I like ^^^^^ i will go fixed when components start to wear out and need replacing

  • I used to run an F24 team (Viridity GRT) and we used Kojaks as there was much less choice back then. We ran them at a variety of pressures and couldn’t tell a difference - there was much more variation in driver ability. The wear rate is more down to the track - I’m sure if you ask other teams will tell you the worst, but Goodwood and Castle Combe were always gentle. Aero still rules F24 though, so you may want to prioritise puncture protection if there’s little difference between tyres otherwise.

I’ve had Continental Urbans tubeless on the Brompton - the biggest issue I had was getting them past the brake pads which I assume isn’t an issue for you? Good luck if you go this way!

  • Agh cool, I can see how the tensioner works now. Nice!

  • Awesome. Now we have shaved almost 20kg off it and have regen and freewheels the next step is aero. I think there’s a wind tunnel session booked at Lotus in January. Some carbon body sections from a selection of Aston’s and lotus’ Will be on hand to try out. Sadly I won’t be going to this.

  • It's its natural habitat, right?

  • Is that Em's old project? BTW You need to put a gold chain on that ASAFP, mate!

    Does it barspinz?

  • Was fitting the suspected hubsmith wheel but the stock Brompton wheel nuts don't fit the axle. Thread pitch appears to be the same but the axle is a slightly smaller diameter than the nuts.
Guess this is why it was cheap, are the nuts going to be impossible to find?

Ah think the 3 speed hub has funny threads. I'll try stock 2s nuts

  • Nah, it's one of my mate's.

Got a front brake as it's currently with a suicide fixed rear hub.

  • It's a parts bin find, alu with Hope face plates.

  • Who's parts bin has that? Lol
Your mate work at Brompton? I've seen the bike on Instagram but can't find it now

  • They’re made in Taiwan by a good Taiwanese company, I rate them highly. I’d wager the threads are ISO metric vs. Brompton’s imperial crap. No idea why it was so cheap, but if it’s as good inside as it looks on the outside, I expect you’ll be pleased with your purchase soon enough.

I’ve found sending them a message via their website is effective; you can ask them, if you don’t have a thread pitch gauge and/or can’t confirm the sizing online.

  • I thought so too, M9 probably but unfortunately my calipers are out of battery and I don't have any non digital ones. Looking on the scale which is only in mm increments, it looks between 9 and 10mm so it might be standard imperial Brompton after all. I'll buy some stock Brompton ones and see if they go on and if not I'll get some M9 track nuts on order

  • My rear contact urban let me down this evening and punctured a tubolito.
There's a cut in the tyre that's gone right through, should I replace?

  • How big is the cut? If +8mm or on the side wall, replace, it’s not worth the hassle of an eventual puncture.

  • Size of the cut matters and I've used old tyres sidewalls as a boot, stuck on with rim tape and it held well.

  • Got a front brake as it's currently with a suicide fixed rear hub.

    No mad skidz? ☹️

  • I’ve put a drop of rubberised superglue in it, but I’m going to replace it!

  • Anyone know of a fork mount pedal holder for EZY superiors?

  • Pretty much new 6 spd wheel. Was taken off a bike because the freehub was a tiny bit draggy.
Not noticeable when riding, I kept it as a spare but I don’t have a brommie anymore

    Anyone interested for £50 posted?

  • I've been running them for ~2k km with no issues, admittedly i don't ride in London anymore. The streets round here aren't so mean

  • Could be. Can you show any rim wear please?

My 6 speed wheel is getting close to needing another rim (already had one rebuild in 10,000 miles) but don’t fancy rebuilding it again.
