If I ever manage to take some cuttings
I think they're pretty robust. I tried to remove one from our front garden to put it in a pot and managed to snap it with very few roots remaining. It's doing just fine and I left the remainder which is also doing just fine too.
Difficult to train into anything tidy though.

I really like them. My mum has a well established one (which this came from) that looks so elegant in winter with bare stems and covered in little flowers.
