I'd encourage any home fettlers to have a crack!

At a guess it is an a70oa or A701a. Might as well give is a refurb with new carbon brushes and repack the gearbox with grease.
If you know the model number as I probably have the parts. So can take it.

OH has an identical one that went pop. They are easy to repair and there are tons of online resources to do this. A great project for someone mechanically inclined. Good luck finding it a new home.

If this hasn't been taken by mid next week, I'll strongly consider it.

I have an identical popped one with same accessories and a jug/blender attachment looking for a new home (for free), sadly based in Horsham, West Sussex.

repack the gearbox with grease.
Always wondered what grease to use for this, and whether it needed to be some food grade type (though i realise no contact so probably not needed)

I partly refurbished mine with kit from eBay that came with instructions (some carbon brushes, and couple other electrical components I don't remember the name / nature of)

Remembered of this thread as I proudly used my one two days ago with my mum and aunt to make a Christmas cake...

Originally grease in the sealed gearbox was an ep grease. At the time there were no food grease I believe. Tho the grease used was normal ep grease but food grease equivalent in the planet gears.
But message me.

Ha! Thanks. I feel silly now I've googled it!

Just to update, it's gone!
Kenwood Chef - maybe 2nd/3rd gen (it's old), went with a pop in the summer, and I had all the intention of fixing it, but work and childcare have deterred me. I'm assuming it's either a cap, or the motor. They're pretty simple machines, I've repaired it once before when it was stuck on fast.
It's got the K beater, dough hook, whisk and the bowl.
Β£5 collection in Walthamstow (it's heavy).
