Doesn't sound like it's sticked up with gunk, especially if it moves inward to big end freely.
Detach cable completely, chain off and double check the H screw is backed out all the way. Also might be worth checking if theres nothing caught in behind / inside the mech itself (twig, small stone, etc). Would be easier with derailleur off bike

Pedals have been turned. That’s just where it is. I could probably clean and GT85 the thing though. The bolt into the hanger seemed tight but could give it another look.
Basically the lowest gear is cog 3 and the highest sends the chain into the spokes.
