Interesting! I just had a look. Seemingly the D8 ones contain gelatine and the HHC ones are vegan.

Oh weird. Yeah I knew the D8 contained gelatine, I complained repeatedly until they changed the description on the site.

I'm getting that info from the site so hopefully both are up to date and they've not just changed the description of the one you complained about, leaving the other one incorrect.

It was a while ago when they stocked the Extract Labs D8 but to be honest I wouldn't trust them to not have done the same thing with the others. It was the fact that the Extract Labs packaging clearly stated at that time they contained Gelatine

Any suggestions for banging Italian recipes? I've got The Sopranos finale lined up for tomorrow and want to do it justice. Mock gabagool would be ideal but may be asking too much.

I do love that recipe but I made something quite similar tonight and have leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

A former boss from over there told me that or some it's treated as a rite of passage. Parties are organised where a little bit of the rancid shark thing is put in a sandwich loaded with things to hide the taste (which to me would seem to undermine the whole idea of a rite of passage, but hey). He said he ate a baguette larded with onions, mustard and so on, and there was this small slimy bit in the middle that he just tried to ignore.

I forgot to mention that the Vegan Fayre is back, organised by VegFest this time, who offered to Animal Aid to do it, and AA gladly accepted. I went today and it was so good to have it again. A little more bare than before the pandemic but definitely worth going (and it may only have felt this way because for once I went early and the heaving crowds I'm used to later in the afternoon may well have materialised after I'd left), and it can only grow again from here. It's still on tomorrow.

Not tried yet, but their Plant Kitchen ones are rubbish.

This was the first year I've found vegan iced-topped mince pies. Obviously not traditional, but I am a fan of sugar, haha.

Anybody tried the Konditor vegan mince pies?
-
• #10591
Yep. They are so so so good.

Very happy to hear this. Might line some of these up for the weekend.

I just ordered 12 to be delivered because I'm not in 'that London,' a ridiculous opulence but I am excited.

Might have to get on this too.

I woke up craving tacos so I made them, great idea. I made the tortillas with blue masa. Fresh guacamole, fresh salsa, foraged chanterelles with garlic, refried black beans. So so good.

Any favourite suggestions for Xmas dinner recipes? I used to go for the Tofurkey roast before they stopped stocking the UK, and haven't settled on anything since. Would like to find something new to make that isn't shop-bought. Must go with usual stuff - roasties, sprouts etcetc...

They're not vegan. They used to say they were, but they contain gelatine. Unless they have changed that?
