Some advice on the first page of this thread, and plenty of discussion about whether or not you should attempt to recover your bike yourself... https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/176548/?offset=550#comment17549083

No problem. I had a my bike stolen from inside a nursery last month, while I picked my daughter up he buzzed himself into the nursery and made off with it (with child seat, and her helmet. It’s dire out there- there’s nothing you can put past some people.
I located it on gumtree a week later and even set up a meeting with the seller. After going to the police station, submitting all the evidence, and trying to get them to come with me, they still wouldn’t do anything and put in a variety of excuses to make me keep going around their admin system. This is unfortunately the state of things- stolen bicycles are low on their list. If possible I would advise trying to set up a meeting and get it back in the safest way possible. Whatever that looks like.
