Here’s an easy question.
What are the fastest tyres for a Brompton? They are for an F24 car that I’m helping out with. It’s gone from 20” conti’s to 16” kojak I’m sure there’s a faster rolling tyre, but there seems to be a difference of opinion on what it is.
(Photo for reference only it’s not the actual car) Thank you.

Schwalbe Pro One or Continental Contact Urban - choice would depend on budget i reckon.

Contact Urbans are great

Thanks both. Another set of Urbans it is then.

Greenspeed Scorcher 349 are the fastest rolling but are difficult to get in the UK and 40mm wide. TruBlu 349 are slightly slower.

Cannot comment on Pro One, but man the Contact Urbans feel just as fast as Kojaks, but don't puncture anywhere near as easily. On Kojaks - punctures were a regular affair, as was replacing the tyres. 2+ years running Conti Contact Urbans and zero punctures or tyres replaced.

Schwalbe Pro One is purely for speed and only speed, if you're planning for short distances and one race these will be your ultimate performance tyre as they will be ruined afterward due to amount of cuts form the soft compound.
Urban tyres is the fine balance of speed and puncture protection if that's your requirement for endurance race.
Really depends on you race car you are planning to build and for what purpose.

Thanks for that. It’s a kit of the one above. They race for 90 minute 3 times over a day and there is a limited budget. They only kick out 250w so it’s cornering forces and weight that eat the tyres. The urbans that were on the 20 inch wheels lasted pretty well, so I’m going to say they should get them again. Once the Kojax’ are dead. They have gone tpu tubes as tubeless is a no go, possible latex and ammonia allergies.

Just googled them, they must be made of hens teeth as I can’t find any :D

I think I'd suffer the weight penalty of regular butyl tubes if latex is off the cards. I've yet to hear anyone give positive impressions of tpu tubes and have seen a lot of bad ones including blowouts

https://greenspeed-trikes.com/product/scorcher-tire-16-120tpi/ You asked for the fastest tyres, not the easiest to purchase.
Go Contact Urban if you are wanting big miles with reasonable speed. Kojaks are not fast in any way except looks.

All the front runners in the series use them, but I’ve suggested that they take some real tubes to swap out it case.

Managed to break the front axle hook on my p line electric today. Called 5 shops, no one’s got one. Brompton’s website doesn’t list them, nor does anyone else’s by the look of it.
Long shot but anyone have one they’d sell? Can’t fully use the bike without the front wheel staying put when folded.

What's the story with the stem?

How does that even…

I've got a set of the G Line pedals, is there a way to fix the retaining thingamajig to a standard Brompton or should I just use a velcro strap or similar for the pedal when detached? I think it gets threaded into the fork crown?

Does it not replace the rear nut on your front brake?

Just checked at work and unfortunately as I have not been there for quite sometime and there has been some renovation they threw out my tyre. Sorry mate.

No worries, I thought I had an old cassette lying around but seems I chucked that out too so won't be putting the new wheel on yet anyway and planning to swap everything over all at once so I have some time to find some cheap rubbers

According to the diagram, yes, but what I have been sent is actually two of the crank attachment pieces.
No rush, I'll be waiting on that eBay wheel to arrive first anyway
Sounds good man thanks
