Dubai is really on my list of places to never visit.

The government should have some sort of travel advice for tourists warning about this kind of thing...
If a person aged 18 or over has a sexual relationship with a person aged 17 or under, they will be prosecuted for having a sexual relationship with a minor.

UK 18yr old man has relationship with UK 17yr old girl while in Dubai (where age of consent is 18).
Girl's mum finds out when they get back to the UK, takes umbrage, reports it to Dubai police and the man is detained (still).
Is it me, or does it feel unnecessarily spiteful to go to Dubai police with this a. knowing that no laws were broken according to UK legislation; and b. reporting someone for a sex offence in Dubai will only end in a handful of bad ways.
Maybe I'm too liberal... !?
