Some of it is pure self-interest; there are lots of clicks to be had if you worship Musk on social media, particularly if he retweets anything of yours. But there's also just a significant number of human beings who live vicariously through their chosen heroes, and elevating his image seems to increase the feels for them.

Musk tapped into this way back, when he took over Tesla. Finding out somebody is a Nikolai Tesla fanboy is quite a red flag, and Tesla's customer base are full of that kind of creep.

Inexplicable, some even think he was sent by god to save the world (and presumably that the racism, criminality, incompetence, rape/sexual assault etc is necessary to achieve that aim)

He was also even more of a fraud than Edison, his supposed nemesis, and a terrible scientist (while an excellent engineer), but the cult of Tesla believes that it's only the dark forces of conspiracy that stopped him giving us all free energy.

This has not been published in English, but if you can read French (even with Google translate) you will find it interesting.

There seems to be no public explanation as to why there has been no publication in English, but since there would obviously be a big market one can only speculate. However, since Mr. Musk is such an eloquent advocate of free speech, it's a bit surprising he hasn't stepped in to ensure full circulation in the anglophone world.

Some might make a comparison between this work and L.A. Confidentiel which also was never published in English but was readily available in French. I believe the French courts were less sympathetic to Armstrong than the English and American Courts. I'm sure that this book played a significant part in Lance's downfall.
