Like others, I never met Hayley, but recently enjoyed reading (from the start) her beautifully written build thread and saw the impact she made on the community here. Love to those close to her and hope they find some comfort in the words of those on here.

So, so tragic and sad. Touched by and enjoyed Hayley's personality and writing on here, despite having never met her, as many others have said above. Love to all close to her, especially her family and friends. Rest in peace, Maj. You will be missed. x

Its been a tough couple of days eh.
Hayley changed my life like others close to her. She made me look at the world differently - but more specifically the power of the little community we have here.
Before I don't think I properly understood or valued the community aspect - I missed the peak lfgss era - I was and still quite shy on going on group rides - was a bit of a gremlin lurker. She empowered me to get out there and meet forumers - go on rides - go to drinks and just be more confident in doing so.
From that I met some friends I'll be friends with forever I think. That's priceless. I could go on and go but I'm finding it to hard at the moment. Maybe another time.
I love you and will miss you without end H.
Rest in power x

This is absolutely dreadful. I always enjoyed my chats with Hayley. Such a sharp wit and a truly candid character. A huge loss for the forum and cycling community.

Like many of us, I sailed into Hayley’s consciousness online. We connected through being cyclists of lesser abilities amidst the norm of physical preparedness. Her selfless encouragement dawned a new gender reality upon me, too. She was always there at a reach of a message to offer support, voice an opinion or entertain with her wit.
I was proud to watch her little big movement on the forum grow more prominent. This was the incremental change, becoming progressive cycling, that I so strongly believed in. Being the Ron Lewis to her Dustin Klein during the blossom was an utmost privilege of mine.
She was famously against riding, yet I had my best rides with her. Waiting patiently quickly became riding slower to enjoy her presence. After a couple of endeavours I felt I couldn’t get enough of her friendship, only to learn to accept her boundaries. She predominantly existed indoors, which was perfectly valid.
We didn’t always agree on things, especially with politics. Still, even at my most toxic she remained compassionate, which ultimately helped me forward with my demons. The unassuming energy she radiated gathered people together, be it to share a fleeting moment or become friends for life. Her home time often felt early, but I now realise she just gave us more in less time.
You shall ride in our minds forever Hayley

So many touching words here, I knew Hayley was regarded highly but some of these posts are truly wonderful.
I’m so glad her family and friends have been directed to this thread and can see the positive impact she made on so many people.I hope when the time is right we can raise a glass and see her warhammer armies take to the field in her honour.

Tragic news. Some of the tributes I've read on here speak to how well loved she was IRL. I always enjoyed her build threads and her writing. Rest in peace Maj.

That's a huge loss for this place.
I'm not sure about spirituality but I hope Hayley is there in our tailwinds.
Big love -

Some people you meet in whichever way invoke a lasting change and Maj was certainly one. Whilst I never knew or spoke to her, the inspiration found in her posts on here and Instagram is something I'll hold onto for a long time; as I'm sure many others will. Indeed, I only made an account here after a decade or so of lurking after being particularly motivated following a recent reread of her build thread.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Hayley in person once, but between that and her wonderful forum presence she certainly left an indelible impression. You’ll be missed here Maj

This is so heartbreaking. Hayley was a wonderful person with so much to share. If anyone is aware of something to contribute to in her honour I would appreciate it being posted.

So sad, I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said but a great contributor that will be sorely missed by all.

fuck. this is so incredibly sad and sudden. hayley always seemed so fun and funny and full of life. I loved her builds. hopefully this doesn’t seem trite but I always turn to this poem when someone meaningful passes over. love to all her friends and family. cozxx
Today we friends and strangers meet
because our friend is now complete.
She has left time. Perhaps we feel
we are the ghosts and her the real -
so fixed and constant does she seem,
so starlike. May the human dream
arise again to find her woken
at its heart, though to be spoken
once is as miraculous
as a thousand times. What utters us,
blind nature, told the trees and birds
and bright stars; yet of all the words
we knew, her name was the most dear.
We give thanks she was spoken here -

will never forget her from all the way back in the care-tags days to seeing her pop up on here and continue to brighten everybody's lives. Rest in Power Hayley.
I never met Hayley, but the MAJ handle is familiar, and I am sure if i never directly interacted with her, I certainly have read her posts.
You will be missed Hayley.
