Came to spaff off about Pest Control, but it seems my last post ages ago was also about them!

I need to expand my noise of choice, but I keep coming back to the good stuff

We Butter The Bread With Butter, German metalcore, a new genre I enjoy.

Any recommendations for doomy stuff with sung vocals? I’m really into Pallbearer (first two albums), YOB, Candlemass, some Melvins, OM, Electric Wizard, that kind of thing. Preferably where 7 minutes into a song, there’s a drop or key change that makes me want to smash whatever surroundings I happen to be in at the time. But also with impressive, perhaps operatic, singing.

Hangman’s Chair, of (comparatively) new bands. Warning from the old guard. Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard for spacey weird shit

Khemmis, Woods of Ypres, Borknagar.

Thanks! I quite like Ypres in a Pagan Altar way but can’t stand the lyrics.
Hangman’s Chair could be a grower, kind of goes where I wish Pallbearer went.
Familiar with Bork, will check out Khemmis -

I don't really frequent this thread but Pest Control are pals of mine. I used to live in Leeds and our old bands used to play together a lot. Great to see them doing so well!
