Ouch!
But a good opportunity to do some fixing and learn how it all works.

Was cycling through a local nature reserve the other day (legitimately on a bridleway, I might add) and there was a fellow making his way through a gate in a dry stone wall up ahead of me. He kept looking down, and appeared to be saying encouraging stuff to whatever he was looking down at so I dropped my speed accordingly, fully expecting a dog to emerge.
Imagine my surprise then when a big old 4x4 RC crawler pops over the rocks and trundles down the path towards me.

How about some close-ups?

Will grab some later.
Sat next to my sons 10th scale ftx jeep, you can really see how big it is.

Was scratching my head trying to fix my tracker last night. After much trial amd error with other cars, motors, escs and radios. I realised the issue is actually in the reviever.
It's a 6 channel reciever and with everything plugged in where it should be, I was getting no drive.
If I switched channel 1 and 2 around I had drive.
If I just plugged the esc into either channel 1 or 2 I had drive.
As soon as I put servo into channel one and esc into channel 2, I get nothing. I assume something is loose? Or the plugs are interfering with each other somehow.
Il order a new receiver and see if that works.

Battery on my shitty WLToys 2428 mini crawler is dead but I'm struggling to find a replacement that looks like it will fit and available in the UK.
Any suggestions?

Is it just a mini lipo? What's the connector look like?

https://wltoys.net/products/1995324
like this (I guess I could just order direct but shipping says 1 month). All the similar V and mah ones I can find seem to be longer in length.
-
• #112
Yeah looks like a 2S lipo.
Should be able to source RC modelshop / online.
Just the reconnection, which u need to get right. (Replicate)
Easier if plugs rather than hardwired.
-
• #113
Yep, but the 2S all seem to be longer. It's as thou they've put the 2 cells against each other and other batteries have them along side...
-
• #114
Yeah looks like it's more bespoke.
Might have to go down specialist model supplier.
Trick is. U need the voltage the same and the MaH delivery similar.

• #115
Sounds like a knackered receiver to me.

• #116
Or servo?

New reciever in..

Scratch that. It seems to be half working.

• #119
Only half!?

Small updates to mine.
New bodyshell as the pajero had split in half. This one doesn't fit the Trx4 chassis that well, but it's alright.
Stuck a metal Yeah Racing spur gear in it with the slipper clutch eliminator.
And changed out the tyres for some J Concept Ruptures. Really soft and tacky.

Speaking of Pajeros, has anyone come accross a 10th or 8th scale Pajero Evo body?

• #123
No. The closest I've seen in the Pajero Rally CC01 that Tamiya used to do, but close to impossible to get now. You can get the decals still if you look hard enough.

Having said that, i just googled pajero evo 1/10 and
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135179136334
Different model though?
Instant karma for trying to trespass my way into an abandoned quarry.
Hard landing on some rocks seems to have killed the esc to motor connection.
Ripped my jeans climbing over barbed wire too. All in all, a bit of failure.
