His face was caught on CCTV at the hostel the night before the shooting, so he could have been wearing something else, carrying a different backpack etc.
The guy had done a fair bit of planning and was pretty competent, but seems to have made a few errors that mean he'll probably get caught in a few days, so probably not a professional.

One day, far in the future, I hope these people will be fucking heroes.
The conversation will go something like:
The end of the world is actually happening and mankind had a chance to stop it.
Why didn't anyone try?
Some people did but they were imprisoned.
Why????

when I met you ....' -

I've had these same thoughts. More so since they've recently been going to prison for it

What was wrong with ankle tags?
-
• #92107
unable to attach one to her ankle because of a health condition
Tags seems to have been developed with relatively well burly men in mind , rather than little old ladies.

the Russians can't intervene as much as Syria would like?
Same with Hizbollah. Assad has been reliant on them.

Shit I didn't realise he was a cyclist. Why are the media downplaying this crucial point?

It was an e-bike. Doesn't count

He's certainly got the support of the person next to him in this campaign.

Plucky Brits may also have played a role by designing the gun. It hasn't been found but from the CCTV the cops think it might be a B&T Station Six 9. Which is a modern Swiss copy of the Welrod, which was an almost silent assassin's pistol developed by the SOE for its agents in WW2.
Original Welrod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoWE8wiBtgU
Modern B&T. Noise at 6:12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tOMY83CF5I
The SOE secret weapons boffins were based near Welwyn and gave many of their designs a code name beginning with Wel. There was the Welgun, Welbum, Welbike, Welfreighter and Welman. (Plus the Normgun, named after a bloke called Norman.)

what I don't get is how he was able to escape at all, how late was the police?! You would have thought the moment he entered that bus leaving the city the cops would have someone waiting at the destination

Sednaya prison near Damascus, the main slaughterhouse where Assad's enemies were 'disappeared', has been surrounded. The guards have surrendered and prisoners are leaving. Syrians are saying this is bigger than the fall of the Berlin wall. A more important goal than seizing the presidential palace.

Assad has gone. It's not confirmed where to. Damascus airport and the state TV station are under rebel control. His regime still controls Latakia and Tartus in a small coastal strip. There was a report that the state's reserves of foreign currency and gold were moved to Latakia a few days ago.

There's something very, very strange about all this.
