I would be asking Lamona Technical Services for a clear explanation of the mode of failure.
I would have thought that the (unreactive) plasticisers used in all 'cheap' siicone sealants are much more likely to migrate into the toughened / borosilicate* glass and cause stress cracking.
Of course, don't reveal this to Lamona TS.
