  • According to one of the BBC weather folk the red alert is partly based on a very high degree of certainty at the Met Office. So they could of course be wrong but they don't think they will be.

  • I’m in the south-west. Tonight and tomorrow it should be coming directly off the sea at us at a predicted 77mph at its worst.
    If I can work out a route that doesn’t involve tree cover I shall attempt to get down there for some photos.

  • well I am now standing firmly by being Michael Fish ..
    so tomorrow we'll have no standing trees

  • Leaves are off the trees, which should help. Worst tree felling tends to happen earlier in the year.

    Do reccomend the met office youtube videos for this stuff. Proper weather forecasting.
