  • Last one. 2.5" fenders for winter slush. Second set from PDW, they do good product and nice to include flap extensions. Locals used to buy quality flaps from buddyflaps but they appear to have closed down.

  • Latest catch, a 90s Look 26" MTB.
Most likely will end up like a beater/pub bike thing.

  • That is great!.. reminds me of the frame I passed on to family, still in the family

  • Looking forward to the “after” pics!!

  • Yeah, Im also interested how it will end up!
I have taking the bike apart, and it's in a surprisingly good condition under the gunk. The bottom bracket is kind of stuck but runs smoothly so I probably leave as is.

Still no firm plans for the build. I think a ratty frame deserves shiny parts. That combined with some silly handle bars is probably where it is heading. Most likely single speed too.

  • Love those forks! Very nice taper on them

  • Took a bit of a gamble with this bike, bought it from a second hand shop online for only €240 with a black friday deal...
It's way nicer than I expected! It has a Salsa fork and low rider, Tubus rear rack, Fulcrum wheels, some sq lab stuff and a SRAM 12s group.
Was planning to use the frame to replace my 26" Inbred, but might just throw some big tyres on it and use it as a mtb.

  • This makes the pipedream I bought look like a pile of shit!

What a very clean looking bike! The fact it came with racks too is insane.

  • I’d imagine the pipe dream is a little more sprightly.

  • That looks like a fun bike too!
I still have to do some work on mine, I think there is grease or wd40 all over the brake discs because they don't really brake much... The chainring was about 0,1mm from the chain stay so it had been eating the paint. It also needs a longer stem and a different saddle.
    Really happy with it though:)

  • Proportions on the Pipedream are much more balanced imo. Looking forward to seeing the completed build

  • That's a nice find! Owl light thingy is mega cute.

  • I agree, I wouldn't mind if the headtube on the Inbred was 1,5x as long. But I still have a soft spot for them somehow.

  • i got a 2019 emonda slr frame so i could run bigger tyres on a proper race frame without having to go to disc everything.. i wasn’t expecting 32s to fit but they do with around 2mm clearance all around. pretty impressed! direct mount rim brakes are actually quite decent too

  • I've been meaning to put a list of racey rim brake frames that can take 30's - 32's is great! How much clearance on the back is there?

  • around the same or slightly more at the brake bridge, probably more like 3mm at the chainstays

  • In my experience this is not enough clearance and the tyre will start rubbing on the fork

  • 2mm clearance

There's a reason why the standard clearance is twice that

  • i have gone for a couple of rides purposely trying to do everything i could to make it rub, climbing out of the saddle in the hardest gear i could push etc and it seemed okay 🤷🏽‍♂️ but point taken

  • although tbh it's probably closer to 3mm. i can fit a 2.5mm hex all around the tyre without it touching the frame, 3mm hex fits on the sides but will make contact with the top of the fork

  • After staring with revulsion on every ride at the ultrasonically cleaned (not by me) seatpost on my Max Tommasini, that had its shiny chrome finish replaced by a grey so dull Nigel from accounts rocked it as his midweek underpant colour of choice, I could take no more and had to replace it with a shiny one that matched the bikes chrome seat stays and
seatlug. I can sleep soundly at night now.

Also managed to source an Ofmega Mistral crank for the bike. Always liked the look of these, gives a sense of forward motion and I can pretend I had enough power to melt snd warp the crank like that;)

And I made the classic mistake of buying the crank without even considering what BB it needed, I had 3 different length square taper italian thread bb's in my parts bin so one of those would fit surely.....wrong. Turns out these cranks need 118.5 length axle which is longer than anything in my stash. So big thanks to Wayne at Pedal Pedlar who couriered me over a special Sunday delivery Ofmega Master bottom bracket so I could get the crank fitted to bike before the end of the weekend, and I just managed to fit it and take
a few picks before sunset. Thanks Wayne!

  • Looks great, especially the chainset.

Do Ofmega fit on any other make? I've heard their taper is weird.
