I was there about 1pm and had an excellent vegan Katsu curry.

Rumbled!
Yeah it's a bit small for a velodrome but you're spot on about the rest.
It's disguised as one of Anglian Water's covered reservoirs but let's just say it's a mighty coincidence that the planet Zargon suddenly stopped showing on star charts just after General Xylop's battle cruiser returned to site last Thursday lunchtime. -

So that’s what it is, often wondered what that site was next to the cafe!

They jest but he's actually stockpiling cake ingredients for when I actually show up.

Not any more.

Of course

Repped

hehe you spotted that too. I'll sneak up one day and find him hiding behind the door, twitching the curtains, waiting for me to leave.

My 400k route is now back to a 300k route and I'm trying to lock it in before the grrl books me in for some other family & friends crap.

I don’t want to run out of food before you arrive so let me know if you want anything put aside (sausage rolls, bagels, a cake or three)
-

Let's try and actually start the ride up there before you worry about food. I've crossed continents 6 times without booking food in advance so I think I can cope with you lot running out of something before I get there. Expectation is the enemy of happiness. ;)
No coffee though and you're off my xmas card list... :)

You could probably make it yourself and give me break time
-
• #68
You don't want me running around your place untethered :D

50mph winds and rain this weekend. I’d give it a swerve TBH.
And now I’m coming down with something we are bound to close (your fault of course). -

Oliver, I thought we had established that Hippy is yet to visit.

I've lost my "I'll ride in all weathers" motivation.
I suppose “HTFU” has softened the F up over the years

Yeah, a bit. I'm still doing rehab on my shoulder and my neck is still kinda fucked (still partially deaf in my left ear) so I'm more wary about eating shit again and since I'm not training for anything I feel less need to go out and spend days/nights in the pissing rain or howling winds, dodging Great Shitain's best drivers. It doesn't stop me continually planning stupid rides - just seems I'm less inclined to actually start them if the forecasts are shit.
That and tile bagging has ruined "normal" rides. In my head I'm like "no tiles, no ride" for routes that would otherwise be fun.
Next event is a Halloween night ride. Fall off in the dark, get covered in mud then smash a curry and beer?
