  • Great work, kidz!

92.6kgs this morning, still heading in the right direction. 🏆

  • Great work!

78.9 kg for me this week, although I’ll be impressed if I can keep that up given I am in Oslo this week and while I’m being good in the day, and hitting the hotel gym, the hotel restaurant and beer in the evening is also making an appearance…

  • 78kg this morning, so just about 10kg lost since end of August. I’d like to get into the 76s by end of year and low 70s in the new year but time will tell!

  • Down to 75.5 this morning from 83.5 six months ago.

Have been hovering around the 75 / 76 mark for a while now, but whilst I would like to lose a little more this is undeniably a healthy weight for me so I’m not stressing maintaining it.

  • 75.5kg 16/09
    73.3kg 09/10
    72.7kg 18/10
    71.9kg 12/11

Two silly boozy nights reminded me that Big Hangovers are scary

  • Down to 74.8kg this morning after a couple of weeks of stubbornly sticking above 75. Last time I was down at this weight was May 2022.

  • Excellent, well done

Sub 75 is my goal but it is elusive.

How tall are you if you don't mind me asking?

  • A very average 5' 9", so I'm still toward the upper end of a healthy weight. Am aiming to make it down to 69kg ultimately.

  • I got down to 61.5kg in summer last year. Then got complacent and lazy and back up to 64. I've had a decent few weeks of commuting by bike so I'm back down to 62.2kg without changing much else. Posting in here so that I hopefully keep the commuting momentum going and reduce my crisp and beer intake!
I'd like to be around 60kg within the next couple of months but not sure how realistic that is with a busy few weeks and then straight into Christmas.

  • I'd really recommend keto and omad, ime once the carbs are minimised the hunger disappears and opens the door to longer fasting periods.Apparently omad and longer fasts are v good for gut health. I've gone from 95kg to 81kg in just over 3 months with embarrassingly no exercise. I'm 187cm..hth someone

  • 95kg to 81kg in just over 3 months

Bloody good effort. Did you phase in or just go cold turkey

  • straight in, the hardest things to stop were crisps and beer which I did to excess daily, still drink white wine and spirits and diet mixer. I started with 2 meals per day and after a month switched to omad which is essentially 24 hr fasting and I've done 3 3day fasts so far. I've found I can have cheat days or weekends and get back on the program easily.
my next mountain to climb is to get back on the bike ans start running again

  • 77.3kg for me this morning, which having started using creatine (which apparently makes you retain loads of water) is very positive!

With some hard work I can see my self achieving my pre Christmas 76.2 target, which was a big stretch back at 87.8 on 1st September!

  • Amazing work all.

I've basically achieved my goal which was get under 14 stone. Am currently just about there after hovering annoying on the cusp for weeeeeks. Having got there, my current pattern tends to be get within striking of the goal distance by Friday, then take my foot off the gas and celebrate by reverting to treating myself at the weekend (I don't go mad - just relax the regime a bit). Then I don't weigh myself for a couple of days whilst exercising strict observation. I'll weigh myself on Weds and find that I'm back where I was by the end of the previous week... Hooray! I then either repeat the pattern or put in a couple more strict days and shed another few hundred grams.

Currently 13/13 or ~88.5kg down from almost 100kg in August. Still really enjoying clothes fitting and looking and feeling so much better.

I do think I need a new goal, and to start working on getting some muscle back. I think 85kg with some improved fitness and muscle definition by Easter should be eminently achievable. Even allowing for The Porkening that inevitably blights/brightens December.

  • I've found HBD ( Human Being Diet) to be really beneficial.
Basically it's eating a combination of protein and fresh veg , some carbs and pretty much avoiding ultra processed food.
I've also started to have no alcohol Mon - Thursday.

  • I've also started to have no alcohol Mon - Thursday

This has been the real difference maker for me recently, way easier to stick to plan when booze is out of the picture

  • 76.7kg for me this morning, have started to up my calorie and carb intake a little, as I feel like I need to start preparing for more of a maintenance intake and don’t want to shock my body with all the carbs all at once!

  • ime once the carbs are minimised the hunger disappears

My experience too. First tried it during Ramadan earlier this year when I'd have a low carb/high fat/high protein pre-dawn meal. Transformative really.

  • Not really sure what’s happened with my weight, did have a weekend away which involved pizza and beer and a few bits of chocolate but my weight is still a fair bit above where it was this time last week despite 3 days of pretty spartan living.

77.4kg this morning, calories up to about 2000 now, as I slowly increase, the grind continues!

  • Not sure if @Acliff will kick off a new one of these in the new year but been awesome to see everyone's progress across the lifetime of the thread. Personally find it a great, supportive space to help with what can be quite a difficult to discuss challenge.

I'd also say that this time of year is generally filled with excess and it's more than likely we will all add a little timber over the holidays. Know that if you've done it once you can do it again, so have fun and don't sweat it too much.

  • I'll definitely do a 2025 thread.
It has been been a helpful, supportive and motivational space.
Also largely free of strange/unscientific advice, and its been a good source of food tips and hacks.

My early Xmas present to myself, and diet hack (maybe) is a Ninja Creami. I've been playing around with recipes, but 250 calories for a pint of chocolate protein powder ice cream with 40g of protein and no added sugar?

  • Plus one to what Loins said.

I am inverting stuff with December calorie counting though.

  • I am trying not to replicate previous years mad fucking mince pie benders this year, but fair play to anyone who is. At the end of the day weight loss is a long game, so as long as you can get back on it it doesn’t really matter if you put a chunk back on.

Thread is a good ‘un, and has definitely given me motivation to get back to healthier ways after struggling for the first half of the year.
