  • You should do 1 of those golf ball aero pits on the head tube.

  • Excellent idea, although I might let the client do their own dings and dents.
Also I am legally forced to say that they are not a Star Wars nerd and that the reference is not theirs either :)

  • Thanks! I'll share some proper photos soon. Currently waiting for materials to arrive for the matching forks and waiting for tubes and stuff for the Boba Fett bike as well.

And while I am waiting I decided to give the powder coating oven an overhaul. Turns out wood is not such a great material for ovens. Especially if you use scrap metal of different kinds that move when the oven is hot.
Wires also got a bit hot so v2 will offer better shielding for the wires. We learn a lot by embarking on this sort of nonsense mind!

  • That's a great photograph, there's summat about workshop pics when they're in black n white.

  • That headtube lives in two different time zones

  • The fake bokeh or the fact that its aero but ancient times?

  • Just for the sheer lenght! Long live giant headtubes!

  • How long do the aero dimples take to do?

  • the "tapered" transition from the headtube to the cups is stunning!! love it

  • Seconded, that flange is lovely.

  • After two very depressing days I was cheered up immensely just now when the UPS guy brought my new Wit Slingers framebags and custom flag. Thanks Tijmen - I know Hayley would have been a great fan.
Hayley and Tijmen where the first of my customers to have smileys on their bikes.

The smiley is a weird one. It's sort of anti-aesthetic / anti-architect and just silly really. But they are a reminder that cycling is supposed to be fun and Hayley was very good at reminding me this. She has helped me be a truer version of myself. More fun.

I will miss our WhatsApp chats, her lengthy posts on here and her constant support of my work.
Rereading her last text from Sunday show this. I was not expecting her passing. I wish we had the chance to hang out a bit more. Preferably on an ride to Epping or something.

Thanks Lfgss for all the great people you bring together!
