Reselling has ruined the "market" for cyclists who would love ride a mash of their own.
Mashsf and other companies have issues with resellers buying all their new frames and putting them on eBay and other places for x2 the price, as they are sold out.
Same thing happens with trainers and other limited items.

Check the current prices for a discontinued frame in a size which almost not possible to get..
Few years ago was a few years ago, and if I decide to sell it a few years ago later it is going to be more expensive.
It is called market. If you don't have the will / money to buy why does this bother you? I would rather look at my own life , than playing the fixed market police role.
