Don't worry, there are loads of models of e bike and cargo bike that have the wrong brake adapters fitted from factory so only a fraction of the brake pad even vaguely sweeps the disc, and when I followed through and queried these manufacturers the response was of course 'we've never heard of that before, very sorry, we'll do better in the future'. And then every single one I've seen on the road since 2021 is the exact same. Jokes.

we've never heard of that before
I'd be happy to never hear a fucking warrany department say this again. 😒

Would be great for many people without enough storage space.
I would really like to try it out on hardcore work conditions. -

thx!

over the bars??? i will keep front 180 thanyou very much! and rear 180 too, for weight distribution.... ;) thx guys (just dont want to spend more money on another rotor)
-
• #14810
agree! 160 is too bad on the rear... lets see if 180 will improve power even with my cheap clarks cheapXt

Different brake pads could be a solution as well, though 180mm on the back is not a bad idea. I have 203 mm on the back of our bullitt with jagwire breakpads

I have 220mm floating rotor on the front of my GSD with magura MT5 and 180mm on the rear. When the 180 wears out, I have the adapter and rotor ready to go up to 203.

Where's your crate from ?

• #14814
nice setup! i have a friend with the same stuff also on a tern gsd, thats "standard" for cargo terns (at least here in ch thats all i see) MT5 is powerfull!!
140e is on the money you think?? not for me, just for someone wanting to upgrade -

I love it. Along with the 9p organic pads, single finger braking is easy and very controllable.

maybe next year for me, need to offload frames and stuff i dont have time to use anymore....

I paid the same for my set of MT5s from Bike Discount in February. They are awesome brakes ime

I couldn't comment on price as mine came on the GSD. And they are the e version with a microswitch in the lever that activates a brake light. That's a nice feature but not earth shattering to not have. Plus, lots of stories of people ripping the wire out as it is quite thin and flimsy. I just added extra zip ties to secure it to the brake hose as the clips it came with don't really do much.

This is my (weak) line of defence against tailgating Mercedes/BMW/Audi drivers, brake check the cunts so they stop looking at their phones for a second or two.

• #14820
Nice too that you can trigger the light without actually braking
-
• #14821
modest way of saying 'bleed your brakes'
-
• #14822
ahha that was funny... :)
(my crappy lever bottoms out before i start braking.... (new pads time) ) -

Yeah - with a 35kg Labrador on the front / 60kg+ of welder / car parts etc, can confirm the extra braking power is required
