  • Have a universal code reader you can borrow.

Ta, I'm up in mcr though so maybe tricky?

Is it a wet belt engine?

I don't know tbh. How to tell?

  • Useful to know, could (and will eventually) send it for service but keen to know what it could mean if possible so don't get fleeced for £££.

  • Sorry if I'm being pessimistic about the coolant, have seen coolants mixing and then turned to a jelly like substance. So am wary of any that claim to be universal.

Do you have a leak or the cracked header tank. Or something more serious?

  • Better safe than sorry, not seeing that as pessimistic.

Do you have a leak or the cracked header tank. Or something more serious?

Knowing my luck something more serious, but not sure. It isn't immediate drop like a leak so I'm guessing it is consumed but this is the first motor I've had with this in over 25yrs of owning them.

I really am clueless about most things car.

  • There is the post but might be cheaper to buy one than post it back and forth.

The car is a diesel (ad Blue is a diesel thing)so not sure, the 1.6 isn't a wet belt.
Think the french car forum have details of people with the lexia cable and diagbox software that could give you an insight what the code is. Can check if my lexia (one Citroen OBD2) cables are the right version to read the ECU and then you'd have to download the diagbox software.

  • Thanks, all appreciated. I will give it some thought and perhaps a big of google/ai too.

  • Looks like they replaced the Nox Sensor... "Nox Sensor - Repl Nox Sensor - Cleared Fault Codes", which would explain the £311. I had mine replaced a few months ago on my Berlingo. Seems to be a common problem.

You'll get a adblue warning light on the rev counter and possibly a EML, if it was an adblue problem. You can't really neglect the adblue. If its run out, it will tell you and give you a countdown in miles to the engine not starting.

You should be able to read the codes with a normal reader to get somewhat of an idea. It's just usually certain functions you can't perform without lexia/diagbox. I bought a TopDon ArtiDiag800BT to use on my Berlingo after having to wait weeks for even a diagnostics appt at Citroen. Seems to be able to do most things, recently reinitialised part of the adblue system with it which seemed to fix an intermittent warning light.

  • Thanks, really useful. I read up on adblue and it revealed the car gives a countdown timer where if it hits zero the engine will refuse to start. Will buy a small bottle & stash it in the boot storage

  • Catching up in here. Have you sorted this yet? It sounds like an air flow sensor problem.

  • Injector cleaner seems to have fixed the problem, purring like a kitten now.

  • Sounds like you had a good day and that's a great pic!

One day we'll get multiple forumengers on a trackday!

  • Yes enjoyed it, been eyeing up another, would deffo do brands again as it’s so close but also considering other circuits. What do you do about insurance out of interest?

After my recent encounter with a pothole I now have round wheels again, fresh rubber on the front and an alignment. Will get a claim in to the council and see how I get on 🤞

  • What the ever living fuck is that...

  • ‘Leaked’… /rolleyes

  • Marketing strategy

    • aggressively ditch all the current Tommy Robinson/Brexit/potatriot fanboys.
    • completely reinvent yourself as a car company that appeals to middle class 16-25 year olds.
    • Sell lots of brand new expensive cars in 5-10 years time, to higher earning people.

I was given a jag (i pace) when my Tesla was in for repairs after a crash recently. I sent it back after a week cos jaguar was such a toxic brand to me. (Ironic that I had a Tesla then, but that another story). Maybe if all the poppy & farrage loving loonies now hate jags, then jag can shed their image problem?

Interesting to see how it plays out…

  • I think that looks great. Refreshing to see a such a traditional brand normally driven by right wing coffin dodgers going in a completely different direction with their design language. Not keen on the pink, but it’s being released in Miami, so seems apt, and as colour is such a subjective thing I’m of the opinion that a colour can never really be right or wrong.

I liked their ‘re-launch’ marketing campaign too. I’m clearly not part of their new target audience, but its great to see a brand approaching it differently and ruffling feathers.
And as far as marketing is concerned it’s undeniably had a huge amount of coverage - I can’t think of a big marketing campaign that’s received more coverage in recent memory.

More power to them if you ask me. Anything that manages to cause so much uproar from grumpy middle aged white men around the world is a big win in my book.

  • I will not hear any about the xf and especially the xfr.

Quite like the X and S types too.

Am I a right wing coffin dodger? ;)

EDIT: The vitriol aimed at Jag by utter fuckwits calling Jag woke was proof that people are soo fucking stupid it is unbelievable.

  • If it looks exactly like that, I want one.

  • That car is both futuristic and retro.

Now does it come with a child driver?

  • They're pushing all the right buttons.
