I have one and it is great, but I spent the money so long ago now I've forgotten that part. Not sure if that helps....

Is there dynamos out there that have variable modes? I would like somethings that’s bright enough for pitch black off road but then ok for riding round town and not dazzling on comers.

I do have one.
I also have a really bright battery-powered light I am using on day and short trips. It's just a bit tricky to charge on the go.
So, really, I am looking for some autonomy while touring, but ideally, I also don't need two (main) lights when riding in the woods at night (not counting a head lamp). -

Only the SuperNova and the Son Ladelux are approved for road use.
But on the opposite side you need you need a light with high beam for MTB use!
So that pretty much summarize to those two lights + IQ-XL Highbeam
Son Ladelux:
Official price: 480 euro!!!!!!
USB charger
150-Lux-Abblendlicht (road)
200-Lux-Fernlicht (full beam)SuperNova M99 DY Pro:
260 euro (bike24)
No USB charger
Fernlicht: > 1.000 lm, 200 lx (full beam)
Abblendlicht: < 700 lm, 200 lx (road)IQ-XL Highbeam
215 euro (SMI)
No USB charger
Fernlicht: 250 lx (full beam)
Abblendlicht: 300 lx (road) -

I was chatting with Torsten on IG about this just the other day
https://www.instagram.com/p/DCCliJEuPUw/
"I have the M99 Dy Pro. It's real good. A bit annoying is that you always have to re-activate highbeam after it falls off due to low speed. For road no biggie, but for off-road it's far from good. I think I will always pefer my kLites for off-road and out-of-Germany bikepacking with dynamo set-ups."
I like my E3 Triple and want something better than the E3 Pro
I didn't realise it had to be mounted a specific way. That might make it an annoying option on the Crux. I'll probably get another klite for the Scott (moneygun.gif) but want something cheaper but #fuckingbright for the Crux. Fuck the laws, I want to see where I'm going.

I have an E3 Triple, so maybe that does make the M99 the right one for me as it’s more road that I think I’d use it for…

Has yours arrived yet?

bump into the shop on:

Basically simply a grip on which you can neatly put your M99 remote control.

Just got confirmation of shipping, I think. I've not fully translated it.

I’m a bit confused as had a parcel force letter about customs but thought it was coming via dhl!?
-
• #5037
Oh joys to look forward to. I ordered a p2max just after Brexit and the whole customs process felt so dodgy with over the phone payment only that put me of ordering since. Kinda hoping it was all sorted now.

I'm looking for a rear light and atm I'm looking at a B&M Toplight Line brake plus , does anyone have one? Is the brake light worth an extra €14 over the regular one?
Or does anyone have another recommendation for one? Going on my commuter's rack and will be with an IQ-x.

I've got the regular topline plus it's a very good light. The brake feature appeals but I think I got my light for under a tenner so moved on.

We have a top line plus on our Urban Arrow, it works pretty well. The light is large and bright, and usually pulses brighter when you slow down. I figured it was only a few extra ££ for a bit more safety on the family vehicle. No regrets.

Yeah I've definitely spent more money on worse things. I guess it couldn't hurt.
Thanks too +Grumpy_Git

Upgraded my bike with the brake one because I am carrying my kid.
Unless you go minimalist (supernova, Son, mini bumm), somehow having a brake light on the road seemed common sense.
Rose has a better deal.

Just tried to look at lights / dynos on bikester.co.uk… seems like they’ve ceased the UK shop??? Shite

Another vote for the Plus here, I’ve had one for ages, works nicely.
An interesting benefit of the Topline (either) is the flush button so you can jump on a train without upsetting the dispatcher having a red light on the platform

Yeah last I remember both Rose and Bikester stopped dealing in the UK post-Brexit

BikeInn have started resending stuff to the UK. I bought a Secuzed from there a few weeks ago and it came easily without extra Brexit faff. Good prices, and actual availability of excellent dynamo stuff.

Letter finally came through, not worked out if it was cheaper this way. But was all reasonably easy. Fingers crossed it gets delivered Christmas eve ready to put under the tree for myself.
Might also be worth looking at helmet lights if you're riding woods at night.
