  • I would add the cost of a full suspension rebuild (including bushings) and maybe headset bearings as well but other than those caveats it’s hard to see why it would be a bad move.

  • Yeh I assume that’s a given on any cheap full sus but given the hammering the boys give their bikes I’m open to the idea that most moving parts need some love regularly!
I’m going to hire a Saracen downhill bike when we go to Antur Stiniog as I’ve never ridden one and I can see that will open the door to more dh bikes!

  • That is sick

  • Farmer Johns in Stockport if you fancy some nicely groomed, good jumps, that can be rolled on most trails and a couple of low level terrifying drops, bridges and gaps!
The drop isn’t as bad as it looks, though it probably looks huge when you’re ten, and you can go round it to start the jump line

  • Can confirm that Hope green pads do not last very long in the wet. At all. Like, an hour.

  • That is unreal, I'd be getting a refund on that shit

  • Tbf, they weren't new, but we're maybe 1/4 worn before today. Felt the brakes pumping up after 6 or 7 runs, got a bit noisy, looked down and realised there were no pads anymore.
Two other mates went through their XT and Code pads today too, so wasn't just me

  • Are these organic?

  • They're the "racing green" ones, which are some kind of very soft resin, I presume

  • Sounds like St. Padwreck’s day.

  • A brutal reminder for me today that mapping a ride out online is sometimes totally different to the ride. Half of my route was very rideable, some of it was goat trail though that had shear drops and I had to push (a loose rock could have been disaster!).

  • That's definitely not Peaslake.

  • It's the woods behind Nationwide in Swindon

  • flinkin blip,
have you considered putting additional bottle mounts on that? i have something very similar and was considering drilling the dt but am resorting to some ebay strap on mount for now — ebay strap on, gc?

  • I take a hip-pack with 1.5l bladder for days like that.

  • Whereas my route on the weekend saw me riding/walking a slicked-up MTB through an underwater golf course / fishing pond.

  • 3 Minute Gaps is cool. I mean, apart from Sam Hill crashing out early in the season. Focuses on 2011 DH season. I bought it in 2017 and only just unwrapped it. You know me, I keep on top of my film watching and race seasons...

  • Go Green is a great name for an air freight company.

  • It is good. Great sound track as well.

  • sorry to spam! I bought a tyre on ebay for a trip and it looks unlikely that it will turn up in time. I need an all mountain type, high volume tyre for the rear a bit urgently and would very much prefer to only pay a small amount of money, or borrow, or in some other way appropriate the tyre. My ideal tyre would be a hutchinson griffus team 2.4 and I think anything too fast rolling, like a Fast Track, would get me into trouble. I’m in Camberwell, thanks!

  • 29/27.5?

  • sorry, 29!
