Bridge clubbers - any obvious reason why you can’t use a band on front derailleur?
Surly say it must be direct mount with an adapter.

I think it’s because they spec a high mount top pull and they don’t throw the chain out enough to get the big ring on a 73mm bb this https://problemsolversbike.com/products/direct-mount-adapter means it works. A bottom pull would solve this but then the arm hits the tyre. I think. I gave up trying to get my head round it along time ago.

I’m pretty sure the first ones came with a stepped out braze on, but now more builds are 1x so there’s no need.

So...I got the derailleur set up nice but thinking of adding a 22t ring to get the really easy gears. Is it possible do you think?
I've already got a left hand shifter and a small chainring but I'm trying to find a front derailleur and all I can tell is it needs to be 28.6, high mount and top pull.
I think it's a 52mm chainline from something I read elsewhere and a couple I've found won't work because of the seat tube angle which is 73 and they were for 66-69.
The closest I've come to finding one so far is this but it's mid mount. Will it work?
Any advice much appreciated.

Honestly I think you'll be fine, bear in mind that the double front derailleur does not have indexing, meaning it's not diffcuilt to get it to go up and down.
If you mean you got a double/triple derailleur set up, then it sound like it gonna work well.
Mid-clamp isn't a problem, you just run the front derailleur cable along with the hydraulic brake hosing instead of on the top tube.

Never really been a fan of the look of the trucker, but that looks super ACE. Lovely build and plus points for some friction shifting too

Appreciate the enthusiasm from everyone!
I get you, its tail end is looong! But with chunky tires it closes the gap between the tire and the seat tube somewhat!
I’m definitely trying to squeeze a gravel bike out of a frame with touring geometry so I’m intrigued to see how it handles. I’m planning on using it for overnighters as well as longer trips too so I feel the slightly more relaxed geometry will probably work in my favour compared to something more aggressive. Aim was to have it as a bit of a do it all bike.

Looking good. The gap is just extra storage space. (I know that’s a LHT, but it stands)

Long chain stays are great for stability on gravel ime. Seems like a great build to me!

That is wicked!

Looks spot on. What size wheels/tyres?

Superb! Those chainstays will really shine on steep inclines and downhills. Nice colour too.

Thanks for all the feedback! Getting a proper ride in on it tomorrow, have only taken it for a spin around the block so far. Will report back

This bike is as allergic to panniers as I am to mudguards.

Lol. Why on earth would you want to use a common standard of widely available bags that can easily be added/removed and mounted low down?
It's that rad one-man-band vibe.

Really suits the build.

Dude could lose half his kit on a trail and not notice it's missing for a month.
Gonna be selling the Pacer I got from @Browndonneur soon, it's sat under my bed since I got it, bit of an impulse buy.
Probably do a classified ad tomorrow.
