that's impressive. mostly that you've got the bloody-mindedness to put in a race pace marathon effort solo on a random weekend
I have a London spot and this is the sort of time I should really have an eye on. the long tempo runs are going to be a shock to the system after not racing longer than a half in a loooooong time
After the Abingdon marathon, I kind of ended up in another build phase and have been doing more hill/speed work in the weeks since. I’d been so careful in the build to that race that I basically just did a load of zone 2 and just enough speed to be comfortable pushing for sub 3 but was very nervous of injury, so have thrown caution to the wind slightly and went out on a solo time trial this morning to see what it’s done.
