Yeah, it’s depressing. There’s talk of more distribution centres opening in the area too so it’ll be chock full of HGVs. Which when looking at the plans seems like it was the whole point of the project anyway, and that’s on top of private vehicles.
For a spot that’s in desperate need of a public transport connection across the river, it’s the worst possible outcome.
The area is already very car-brained, with a load of big box stores in Charlton. There’s lots of redevelopment in the area, but changing the road network to something more suitable for habitation, as well as providing better public transport seems to have been forgotten.
