I imagine that's the point of it. Get people to buy and hopefully generate a few extra sales on the basis that people think they might be getting it for free.
SImilar to flexispot's first 30 purchases after midnight will get refunded.

And as Starling's CRN isn't mentioned in the T&Cs, I wonder if a change of name at Companies House would to, say, Pigeon Cycles, would prove a potential workaround if they're really struggling in 7 years (not to mention T&C No. 8 of course)... Great bit of marketing though.
