  • Cut at an angle. Naturally, not at an angle that can easily be marked on a stick. I am unwilling to muck around with the handle, so the adjustments to make the stick fit are by the tiniest hand carved increments.

  • What’s the best practice for lap joints? I did one last night and it’s embarrassing how “out” it is

  • Achieved a better degree of fit than I thought I was capable of on the c1900 rams horn crook, without losing a mm of bark from the hazel. Finish is linseed oil, which was traditional when it was first made.
