  • Ah yeah I was googling Aqua but I see now the O isn't a Q.

  • Ahhhh that makes sense! Sorry both. The co-pilot above it (are they both co-pilots?) is an absolute beaut.

  • I couldn’t tell you, I know next to nothing about Breitling!

  • They only made 3 for the brand relaunch.

2 for the new UG archives and one to be auctioned. I assume that's the reason for that price.

  • Not sure legibility was top of the priority list with this one

  • I know about the three they’ve made (I wrote about them in my Substack, did I mention I have a Substack, lol) - I am hearing that $15-20k is allegedly going to be the price for a regular steel Polerouter (not gold) when they relaunch. Sounds like the plan is to position UG well above Breitling.

  • I had heard they planned to be halo level as they'd topped out breitling. $15k for a polerouter is insane, even if they replicated the micro rotor movement.

Ug should be sticking to chronos

  • That’s nuts, should be 40% of that price and they will sell, only people who don’t ask or care about the price will buy them at £20k

  • I definitely don’t think UG should stick to chronographs. One of the defining aspects of vintage UG is the sheer range of different watches and different styles they made.

  • I think it might have been a business plan cooked up and approved during the crazy overheated market days.

They’d clean up if they made a Polerouter at the same price as a Datejust or Aqua Terra, but they’re starting from zero, and assuming a new movement, that’s a terrifyingly large investment, even outsourced to Kenissi or LJP or whoever.

With a brand new microrotor movement I could see them asking maybe 10k on a strap in the current market (which is about where the new Ingenieur is, on a nice bracelet but with an ordinary movement) but 15+ is quite spicy. We’ll see.

  • While I am succumbing to despair because Tudor is still not releasing a Pelagos FXD in 39mm, I do find this BlackBay highly comfortable and lovely.

  • My nan had some curtains like that.

  • @Regal cool stuff in that interview. I wasn’t aware of the existence of that Heuer nor the Mirage. Fascinating.

  • I was also told this by a collector I speak to occasionally via Instagram. Will be interesting to see where they sit.

  • Cheers dude 👍

  • Oooof.

Might be the best forum Black bay colour way combo imo. 👌

  • Happy Friday gang.

  • Is that a new acquisition?

  • Yes, just picked it up on Tuesday.

  • I like the GS that just have Seiko on the dial. Also hi-beat. Great watch.

  • That's lovely.

  • It's a remake (supposedly of the 45GS but in reality it's a lot more like a 44GS) with the brand new 9SA4 hi-beat movement. First hand wound hi-beat they've made in 50+ years, "dual impulse" escapement, free sprung balance etc. I was also surprised they went as far as to use the old Seiko-first dial layout - it even has the Daini logo on.
