I just remembered in the nick of time and got it in a few seconds

1 under. I got what the type of clue it was and what I needed to figure out, but still took a letter. Still don't get how it relates to the rest of the clue.

2 over, could not get the gist at all

What’s the video. How are you meant to know this stuff. There’s a whole process to working it out but never the same process.

2 under, took me a while but I thought the structure was pretty basic. Very mild “a-ha” moment when I saw it.

Click on "our guide" on the website and it will take you through the overall format of a cryptic crossword as well as different worldplay indicators. The whole fun is parsing which part of clues is the definition and which are the wordplay indicators.

Then if you click on and watch the video each day you will get an idea of which ones they use and how and will build up knoweldge.

i got into it exclusively from watching the videos on tiktok. before there was even a game to play. So you can definately just learn by trying and watching the video when you dont get it and it will slowly build up

I had it all worked out but then failed for hours to correctly do what I was being told to do.

Took a hint (stupid) then a letter and got it immediately.

Sometimes there is just a blind spot in your brain that you kick yourself for afterwards.

He could just say:
here's the definition word
here's the wordplay

He doesn't have to take me on a 90 second exploration of "what if this means" and "what if the clue maker means".
