Some of you may have noticed the brutal rain this morning, but let it be known, day 3? Ticked off
Early start at work today so I will claim my reward (a decaf americano of questionable quality that is elevated by the fact the people in the coffee shop are nice) tomorrow instead

good fkin goin
I walked 15 mins in it and was glad to not have to be commuting anywhere on a bike -
• #4084
Good on you.. riding a bike to work 5 days a week, even if the weather is shit is probably my best habit.

Since moving to working from home a few years ago I did drift into the wake up at 8:59 lifestyle. The idea of forcing oneself out on a faux commute to replicate the 30 odd minutes I did in the morning was too much personally. But I’m proving myself wrong.
I shall not be replicating the evening however, 30 minutes riding at 5:30 rush hour in the dark can get fucked. I do not miss fearing for my life as a quashqai dad seethes behind the wheel over something like, what his wife meant last night when she said they had poor communication in their marriage and decides 2 ft in the red light queue is worth my life.
Got a couple of weeks off coming up so maybe I will do some longer morning rides.

Surely the best thing about doing a fake commute is....rush hour traffic is optional. Good on you for getting out, the 7:15 am club is handing out jackets (I'm a member).

Thank you thank you will I be seeing you at the end of year do?
Rush hour is needed unfortunately, You’re a stronger person than I if you can get yourself out the house at 8pm on a dark winter night to ride a bike. Such is pink collar support I’m chained to the ol’ dell xps the other hours

Being employed at a place of manufacturing means I started going to the office at 7, which means I avoid the worst of the rush hour traffic. Going home a 3 p.m also means I might catch a ray of sunshine on the way home during the these dark months. Or spend 30-40 minutes at the small skatepark with the girls on the way home.

I hope you will, when is it???? I have been very removed from Jackets proceedings recently.
Unfortunately sometimes parents evenings/open evenings/general shenanigans mean that 8 pm departs are a reality!! Thankfully Warwickshire is pretty nice to ride around at night. -

I like the lap thing. To some people the idea of just going around the same route in purgatory but I just enjoy being on the bike. I often wonder how many people who don't like laps or out and backs are happy to sit for hours doing Zwift.

Between Quashqai dads and Juke mums, it's a warzone out there. Stay safe

I've known adventures, seen places you people will never see, I've been Offworld and back... Mitsubishi frontiers! I've stood on the back deck of a Quashqai bound for the Daihatsu Camps with sweat in my eyes watching stars fight on the shoulder of Nissan... I've felt wind in my hair, riding test Jukes off the black galaxies and seen an attack fleet of Toyotas burn like a match and disappear. I've seen it, felt it...

i like laps, especially if they're not on public roads, makes it easy to manage how much effort you're putting in and being able to respond to what your body is telling you. can imagine someone who needs novelty in their excercise finds it dire tho. i guess it's to what ends you get out of cycling and what makes your dopemine receptors kick in.
feel sorry for peoples who's dopemine receptors only kick in above 35kph tho, or over 100k. tough burden to carry in ones life.

Agree entirely. I like the lap thing also because I have the comfort of knowing if it is becoming miserable for whatever reason I can just call time a lot easier. The days of suffering on long rides is well behind me now. I'm with you all the way on this.

Take cover. Shots fired
I am glad you are getting out the door. Extra fat is good for when the apocalypse hits.
