  • I think City will probably still win the league, and then overcoming this blip will mean that that actually becomes newsworthy even though it's actually another tedious and inevitable outcome.

  • I dunno, I think they're possibly shot this year, Rodri is so pivotal for them, KDB seems to be having a prolonged sulk and their team/squad has a really strange age-profile, I think only 2 players between 24-28 started that game against spurs. They've also let some incredible players leave recently (Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Pedro Porro, Julien Alvarez, Harwood-Bellis looks tasty too) who could surely have improved this team/squad. Maybe it's 4D chess financial management strategy, but it's beginning to look a bit confused. The Kalvin Phillips thing was just weird too. He was never going to work.

Obviously they're still a ridiculous team and with Rodri back their spine would be good enough to allow them to compete on all fronts, but I think without him their flaws are starting to show a bit. Plus some players also just look a bit old/tired. Bernardo Silva and Gundogan don't really want to do the running necessary for a Pep midfield.
