Currently in week 6 of 8, in the 'peak phase' until 5 Dec, tapering from 5 - 15 Dec.
I followed the recommended daily workout pretty religiously for the first ~4 weeks (mainly lots of base). Between twisting my knee at the pub and life being busy means I've gone a little off program in the last two weeks. Based on my garmin 'load', my extra curricular runs have generally been harder but I've had a few extra rest days (garmin coach has one rest day a week).
I'm slightly skeptical I will hit my target time as things stand - and even less confident if I'd just followed the recommended workouts, given the load has been relatively low (per Garmin). I've had a few anaerobic sessions at quicker than race pace but have otherwise mainly been had base and a handful of tempo/threshold workouts between base pace and race pace.
I'm not sure if this is a 'trust the process' moment? I'm tempted to continue doing a few interesting/quicker/challenging runs as well.
Quick update on my new Garmin coach:
