Yeah, language is interesting here - English is the official language, but all Singaporeans have to pass an EFL test before they're eligible for UK university admission.
A lot of the people my age or older will speak Mandarin as well as English, but a lot of the younger people only speak English, or rather Singlish which is a mix of English and Bahasa/Mandarin words and slang.
